coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/17/2020 4:55 pm Plating VS normal: Polishing coins makes it look shiny, but removes the definition of the coin: So polishing and plating ruins the collectable value to a collector. Cleaning coins wrong ruins the coins. If you send them in to be graded, they will denote on the slab genuine. meaning the coin is real, but not gradable.
