Would anyone here be able to identify this medal ?
It's dated 1710 and looks like Silver, measures 36mm.
The script looks Latin but I can't be sure.

I am finding it difficult to read the lettering with these pictures.
It would be appreciated if you could text them (both sides), onto the screen.

Ok, so I'm not turning up much, but here is what I can add, hopefully sending people in the right direction:

-Medal bears Latin inscriptions. Although I do not read Latin, I can discern that this person was an doctor of theology (first 2 lines), and in some way related to state education (last 3 lines).
-This medal is commemorating the 1784 (MDCCLXXXIV) anniversary of his being given his credentials (lines 3-6)?
-The person in question is JO HENR PRATIE (Johann or John / Henricus or Henry / Pratie).

I cant really say much more than this, as Google isn't being cooperative, and I don't recognise the medal off hand, so cant go to any particular reference. I will add that my gut is saying German States on this one. Hope this helps though, and I will continue to check in!

...Huh, the 1784 is pretty clear. I'm guessing that (April?) 14th, 1784 is the date of the credentials (or some anniversary thereof), in which case 1710 (also clear) could only be when he was born.

Looking at the full-size image, I confirm the exact date of 14 April 1784, confirm that 1710 is the birth year, and add that the credentials are associated with Bremen-Verden.

Some further googling allowed me to identify the person on the medal with Johann Hinrich Pratje (German Wikipedia link). I'm still not sure of the occasion of the medal, though.

Found it, using Google Images- usually the fastest way of finding stuff like this.

Munz Zentrum auction 189, lot 3170: (image matches exactly), estimate 130 Euros.
Bremen-Stat ohne Kaisertites (I don't know what that means)

Just a coincidence that I drive a car that was built in Bremen - a 1998 Mercedes W202 C280 V6 - can Google Images that as well.
