I've had this medal in a cigar box filled with wheat cents for years. I recently went back into the cigar box to sort out the wheats and looked at this one under a loupe. To my surprise it had doubling. Wait no, tripling! Wait no, quadrupling!

The tripling is noticeable throughout but the quadruple spread is only noticeable on OF THE. It's possible there's more than 4 misaligned hubbings as each one closely overlaps, but I can only definitively make out 4.

The spread isn't that extreme, but it has nice notching and separation in some places and the letters are noticeably misshapen.

Wexler does have a US Mint medal doubled die on his site, so I emailed him pics to see if he would be interested in looking at this one. Still awaiting a response.

This medal is PCGS #413581 (1-5/16" bronze): https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin/413581
It is NOT the one from the 2014 Coins and Chronicles Set, I definitely owned this before 2014!

I put it up on my site (with more pics) as SDDO-001: http://crdievarieties.com/doku.php?...drsbmsddo001

Very interesting!

I have this medal in the 2014 FDR C&C set. Since it is a more recent strike I wonder what die set was used. I will have to take a closer look at mine when the time comes.

Thanks jbuck!

Unfortunately this is not from the Coins & Chronicles set, this is a much older medal, so you're probably not going to find it in your set.

There are slight design differences from the older medal to the one in the C&C Set. On the medal in the set, the copyright symbol above the designers initials was removed and they added texture to the fields.

Correct, as I mentioned, mine would be a much more recent strike.

Your mention of the design differences assures that different dies were used. I will not rush to examine mine at this time.
