Morning Brian. Been a long time since I have seen you here on CCF. Hang on is all we can do . The water level in the basement is up to 3" now. News said we got 8" of rain the last 24 hours.Looks like all three or four vehicles we have are totaled. Hey,are you still into coins? I haven't got any boxes of cents for so long I am not sure what they look like John1

A very anxious time for yourself and family.
Hang in there if you can, and be careful to preserve prescription meds, clothing and food, go carefully with clean drinking water. Keep warm and dry if that is possible. Be especially careful with hygene during floods. Hope your coins are high and dry, and your animals are safe.
When the water receeds, there is going to be mud everywhere, and lot of stuff will be ruined. Captured mud in cars helps to accelerate rust. As soon as possible, hose the car out and let it drain and dry. All fluids in motor vehicles will need to be replaced.
All of this just adds to the covid-19 problem.
Parts of Australia have been hit with a triple whammy: severe drought, huge areas of countryside and infrastucture totally destroyed perhaps a billion native bush animals killed some species threatened with extinction by bushfire. And now massive economic damage caused by covid-19 lockdown.
Some disasters we share, some we don't. But they are all very severe.
I am an old man now, but the current combination of natural disasters around the World has been the most distressing that I, and perhaps most of us, have experienced in our lifetime.
The will to survive is strong. You just get up, and get going again, and sacrifice what you can in posessions, mind body and spirit, to help those around you. They are probably in just as much need as you are. Times like these is when communities pull together.
