Can anyone point me in the right place to get more information about this Lincoln Wheat penny that seems to be just the outline of this head and upper body no facial indentions(features), and missing the last number in the year, from what we can tell the numbers are 194 or possibly 196. Also the feel of the penny itself it smoother than any penny I've ever felf

I am not surprised about your smoothness comment ... That is a really well worn coin.
I wish I could help you with the coin's date but it is just too far gone for me to tell.
Regardless of what the date was, there is no real added value to your coin in that condition.
If you like wheat pennies - as I do - perhaps you can just carry it around as a "pocket coin."

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Exactly my thought. No doubt the design was there when the coin left the mint, but the years of circulation have worn this down to near basal state.

1958 was the last year wheat cents were made. The date won't be '196x'.

A very worn LWC. Served nobly for many (?) years.

Looks like it might have been cleaned as well. Clearly not mint state like the color suggests. Or maybe its from rubbing it to let the copper kill bacteria? Like having a lucky silver coin for same purpose.

Notice the color of the coin? It was also cleaned to death. The pink color screams alteration!

I have seen the pink color when people, including myself when I was a kid, stick the LWC and LMC in Cholula or Taco Bell picante.
