If it's grease strike through it managed to do away with any type of mint mark

Yep. It was indeed Struck Through Grease on both sides.

Well it is clear. We see on coins from time to time:
1988-Washington-Quarter-Struck-Through-Grease-Or-?

Often see near the rims of coins. Looks like the metal is rising, but the clear grease is providing that affect. If you think you found one, Take an image before and take a toothpick to the affected area and post an image after the test. I can use more of these images for my files.
