I tried to let this guy know that this coin is a fake, I also stated that the Carson City Mint wasn't built until 1870. This is his response, Quote:

It may help for this example, but perhaps the seller wants more knowledge. This knowledge could be applied to other coins they may have or receive, ones that may have legitimate date and mint mark combinations.

Yep, Seated dollars were struck in Carson City from 1870-1873. Glad it was ended. |

Guaranteed just another ebay problem seller - he knows very well what he is doing, and likely knew the day he bought it . The latter perhaps an exaggeration, but he certainly knows whats going on - he seems to be a moderately experienced dealer. @Coinfrog ebay wont do anything about the report... best we can hope is that someone can steal the item from him under the guise of COVID related delivery delays and a not received claim. |
