I picked up these two little coins lately. I have very few Ancient Greek Silver and these are some of the least expensive you can buy - but they are a very nice series to look at.

Thrace,-Cherronesos-Hemidrachms

Thrace, Cherronesos Hemidrachm 400-350 E bee

Thrace,-Cherronesos-Hemidrachms

Thrace, Cherronesos Hemidrachm 400-350 B.C E Ear of wheat
I'm assuming that is a dot beside the "E" - but it might be something else.

Are you worried that they might be casting bubbles?

"Are you worried that they might be casting bubbles?"

No.

I'm referring to the "probable" dot to the left of the E - though it looks a little large to be the normal dot you see on these. On reflection it might just be an edge bump. Pellet is a better word than dot.

The weight it right for both of these and I got them from a reputable source. The flan crack at 1 o'clock gives me a good look at the inners of the coin and it definitely appears to be struck - not cast. I also checked every online fake report I could find and there is no die link to any of those. In-hand and under a loupe it seems OK

But you're right it's an area to be uber careful in.
