Can't tell - the lighting needs to be at a more right angle to the coin, not from the side, and the mintmark has to be in better focus. Also try not covering up the area with arrows. Let me see another shot and I'll see what I can figure out.

That did help somewhat - thanks for retaking the photo.

My initial assessment, without having the coin in hand, is that you are seeing what could either be an effect of flattening the top of a mintmark through wear, giving the appearance of a separation line and two punchings, or what could be normal lines and artifacts of the base of the punch in a deeply punched mintmark. I don't see any notching at the corners of the serifs that would indicate a close second punching, nor do I see any relief that is thicker in profile from a normal mintmark for the date.

As with all judgement by photos, things could change dramatically with the coin in hand - but we don't have that luxury here. You could have something, but it doesn't show in the images.

thanks for your input coppercoins. Wish I could get better photo's but I am very limited as you can see. the top of the s has 3 seperations but just cant get photo. Thanks again
