Hi,
I have a 1976-S US Bicentennial silver Quarter coin, and it's weight is 6.00g. I know that the weight of silver clad Quarter weight is 5.75g and the weight of proof silver Quarter coin is 6.25g. How we should explain this matter. Is it rare error coin?
Thanking you.
With regards,
Habib.

There was also a silver uncirculated version that is 40% silver and not a proof, also minted in San Francisco. I believe that's what you have. They are pretty common.

40% siler bicentennial quarter weighs 5.75 grams with a talerance of +/- .2 grams so maximum weight of 5.95 grams. Yours is very slightly out of tolerance but not enough out to get excited over.
