wasn't sure if this was a weak strike or just a really major Greaser, but I'm leaning weak strike because the high relief points of the portrait and memorial building are lacking detail, which would be consistent with low pressure, while the lower relief elements are crisper. Thanks Jim! Just did a search on the forum and concluded the same thing after finding a recent post that Mike Diamond commented on. I usually wouldn't save greasers, but is one like this worth holding on to?

Struck through grease. Note the rim. On a weak strike, there will be little or no rim.Low Pressure strike:    Struck Through Grease:   1. Note the strong rims. 2. Like on your coin, note how the devices are affected. They are wider because the grease prevented the striking of the deeper devices. (The narrow part of the devices on the coin. |

Thanks, Spence! I did. Found it in a tub of pennies a family member had in his basement that he let me search through. Think it's 2x2-worthy? I usually just tube greasers, but this one I might set aside.

I'd put this one in a 2x2--there is enough of the design elements missing that it deserves to be kept separate.
