1968s penny date is messed up, is it anything worth keeping or is worth money?

It is still worth one cent. The devices that show Machine Doubling is common on the 1968-1972 cents. The motto touching the rim is on all of the cents that year, including the proofs. The master hub had been widening for years and making the devices clower to the rim area. The following year they created a new master hub. So when you see the two years side by side, you can see how much wider the devices and the bust had enlarged over several year of creating the master dies.

common Machine Doubling. Good eye for spotting an issue with your cent!

Very nice MD. It would be called a doubled die,not double die. Your whole coin pic is very blurry.

A good looking cent for its age and a nice keeper for reference purposes.
