1. MD on the mint mark or no?
2. The U in TRUST is thicker on the right side than on the left side.

EDIT: I think there is a split serif on the lower left side of the mintmark.

Not seeing the split serif. Looks like standard MD to me.

Tops of the date along with the mintmark shows the signs of MD...as far as the U, might be part of the design, I'll need to check my BU set

Looks like MD along tops of date and mint mark. Also a bit on the ST.

Note all the devices on the coin are showing the same MD direction. Tops of the devices. All MD not RPM or DDO.
