Hi all. I have a lot of 100 2013 $1 Star notes that I bought from the bank, uncirculated, with the bank sleeve on. The weird thing is, the the number 3 in the serial number seems to be 'bleeding'. Is this an error, or is this common? I will attach an image or two.

Agree, nothing out of the ordinary. Steve in Tampa, our resident star note expert, should be along shortly to mop up.

Most packs of star notes are from larger runs. This was a run of 6.4M notes. The serial number has some minor over-inking but it's fairly common.

BEP banded packs of * notes do carry a modest premium.
