I recently got some $100 bills from my bank. The serial # on this bill is 11/30/2013. I was also able to get dated notes 11/30/2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2019. The 11/30/2013 would be a Tombstone date for the actor Paul Walker. The 11/30/2015 date has a connection to Kobe Bryant's retirement announcement. I was just wondering what added value above face value, could these possibly bring. They are all new-crisp, never folded bills.

Birthday notes have a small premium. Check ebay sold values for an idea on current value. John1

I've never understood the appeal of birthday notes, loosely defined as they are, but certainly many are enamored of them.

Yes you have number 1, yep thats cool. Heck you have 20 number 12's super cool, but you have a birthday note? No interest.

Usually they sell like $10 dollars over the face value but only if you get that buyer who is looking for that particular birth date.

at $10 over face then ebay would not be an option, haha. I will just keep them until I need to spend them.

IMO "birthday" & what I call "Fancy" serial numbers are (or at least seem to be) a bit on the fringe yet. Mind you- binary # (00's & 11's) & "Rotators" used to be fringe but are now accepted as "Special Serial Numbers" (by Canada's Charlton at least). When I first started collecting I wasn't interested in prefixes (short, or change-overs) nor replacements but I actually snagged a few of the latter (asterisk replacements) as a 16 year old working at a carwash. Once I started to really take note of the various serial numbers on each note I got drawn in. I then discovered (over the years) how hard it was to come by a simple 3-4 digit radar (1 in 1000 here in Canada) & later began to appreciate special numbers (my interest grew over 2 decades). If you have searched for them (from bundles/bricks) it makes you realize how hard they are to come by. Re: $100 Nice note but I would prefer a lower denomination with a fancy (or birthday serial number).
