In the past month a buyer has purchased 12 coins from me in ANACS holders. Yesterday I'm informed by ebay that she wants to return three of them. I see that she stated item not as described. (FWIW there is a bit of a language barrier from my previous conversations with her through ebay.) Then the buyer sends me a message that she would like a return shipping label sent to her. I messaged her back saying the listing states buyer pays for return shipping, and I will be happy to send her a refund when I get the coins back. Then she sends me a message, difficult to understand, but sounds like she sent two coins, purchased from me in late May, to PCGS for crossover, and I think she's saying that those 2 coins didn't cross, which is why she is returning the current coins. This is the photo she sent me of some PCGS communication. What should I do? The easiest thing would just be to pay for return shipping, and hope for the best. My fear is that she will want to return all the coins, then I'd be out a lot of shipping + about $2,000 for all the coins. Suggestions please. Thanks.

Unbelievable ! This sort of stuff happens all the time . Ed , you are lucky she is keeping 9/12 . You won't win with ebay , just accept the return and send her a label . We are going through almost the same thing right now with a Morgan Dollar clown with low feedback who thinks it is OK to run an approval Service on ebay . It is not fair to you and all I can say is good luck .

Thanks. Since the buyer said item not as described, the seller is automatically responsible for the return shipping. I can't wait to block them after the last possible return date. Apparently, with the current virus thing, buyers have a longer time to ship items back, but if I read it correctly, they still have to claim a return inside the normal window of 14, or 30 days or whatever. I hope she doesn't realize that she could claim a return for the submitted PCGS coins near the end of the return window, and still has 3 weeks to ship them.

Just another one of the risks and "gotchas" when selling on ebay. Hope the damage is minimal.

Sorry to hear that, looks like your options are limited and you'll have to take your lumps. I assume they're still in the original ANACS holders? Definitely one to block in the future.

If only three coins get returned, I'll feel fortunate.

hahaha lol The buyer continues to be a bad dream. They still haven't sent back the three ANACS coins, and they asked for my address twice :-/ Because of Covid, ebay give buyers an extra chunk of time to send items back, so they have until the 20th to ship. In the mean time they keep making more offers, which I have ignored. Just got two more offers today. I'm tempted to just reject the offers and block them, but they could still leave negative feedback for a bunch of purchases. The beat goes on.

on ebay.ca, if the buyer claims item not as described, then the seller is responsible for the return label.. You best be sure that the buyer doesn't end up with all the coins, and their money spent..

Should I send them a return label? Apparently they aren't smart enough, or don't have a printer, to print the return labels that are available. On the return details, there are three individual tracking numbers for the 3 coins, but the buyer never printed the labels. they said they'll put the coins in one package and ship. At least if I send them a label, I'm covered right? I checked all the return details, and options, and don't see any option for sending a label.

They will probably not return them and claim they used your shipping labels so it's all your fault. I would proceed with caution and block from future bids. Any adult can create their own labels. Something smells fishy if they resist doing that.

OK, since I offer returns, and the buyer claimed "not as described," the return process is automatically started by ebay. In the return details, it looks like there are three prepaid return labels/tracking numbers issued, and the pre shipment info is already automatically sent to the USPS. I could be wrong, but if the buyer doesn't use the prepaid return labels within the allotted time, they are out of luck. There is no need for me to send them anything, when the return labels are already there, and ready for them to use. It's not my fault they can't use the labels. I've done everything I can. The only other thing I think I could do, is let them know that there are three labels for them to use, and all they have to do is find them on ebay and print them. BTW, they are selling on ebay too. I should just block them, but still worried about feedback. Not sure they even know how to leave feedback, haven't left any yet after 15 purchases.

Thanks. I even let them know there are prepaid return labels from ebay. Don't want them to screw up a self addressed package
