Hi,
I came across this 1970-S US Jefferson nickel, but could not come to understand what letter is under mint "S"?
There are two images which the second one is rotated 180 degree with respect to the first one foe better view.
May I have your opinion?
Thanking you.
Regards,
Habib.

The top image seems to show a die scratch or gouge inside the top curve.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Looks like a contact mark with a slight wave around it. If you look SE of the mintmark at 4:00 you can see a die wear wave moving towards the rim. But that is not a RPM. Just field disturbance. You can see the die flow lines forming on the NW side of the mintmark. Just a normal die event as the die ages.
