Hi. I'm a new member of the forum and I'm glad to be with others with the same interest. I'm new to error coins and want a little insight on what I'm seeing. I have found a 1944 Lincoln Cent that I thought was just flat out abused. Upon close inspection I found what I thought were just bag marks and scratches were reverse printed letters on the reverse and the dig mark on the face of the coin is actually a reversed wheat stalk. Does anyone else agree and does anyone have any idea if its worth anything?

@lg, first welcome to CCF. Second, perhaps we don't need a super-close pic, but start with adding an overall view of this coin. I kinda looks like the impressions of those letters on the rim are backwards, which might suggest that someone compressed this coin and another cent in a machinist's vise.

I agree with Spence. Damage from two coins being compressed together.
It looks like the image may show the rim of the coin with letters that are backward.

Yes it's what we call a vise job...no added value nor error. However
to CCF...good luck on future finds, have fun...

Damage to a coin is not an error. Just like a dent in a fender of your vehicle, does not increase the value of your vehicle. Damage to a coin, often reduces it value, to face value.
