My mom had this in a pile of her 100$ bills, and I noticed it and thought it may be worth more than FV. It's a 1985 with no creases, minimal wear as she's had thin in a pile for decades. Any information or value I could get would be greatly appreciated. It's my first post here and will try to reciprocate as much as I can!

Neat error! Even neater in that it's on a "C" note!

It is a 2nd printing error referred to as "out-of-registration" printing. The sheet it was printed was a miss-feed into the press during the 2nd printing. (Notes are printed in a three step Printing process).

Most likely there were 31 other notes from the same sheet that were released, too. Chances are some of those other notes have turned up and have been sold at auction. Will try to do some searching later tonight.

Try to get that note into a safe currency holder to prevent handling and damage. If it's uncirculated it's worth a couple of hundred bucks in my opinion.

Your Mom had a good eye when she found it!

Thank you for the initial info! I saw a newer 1996 or so C-note in worse condition sell for 500$ on ebay that looked very similar. My mom thought it was neat I told her it may be worth something extra. Glad she listened to me.

Yeah, I'd love to hear if you found out anything else about it or find similar sales. I have it in a plastic casing right now, I need to find/buy some official holders though when I sell it for her. Thank you a ton!

Welcome to CCF.
I saw the $100 error note (misaligned) that sold on ebay for $500. It was a bit more dramatic than yours. I also saw some $100 notes with minor misalignments that sold for under $150. Yours would probably be valued somewhere near the middle and might fetch more if authenticated and encapsulated. With so many fakes out there and buyers getting duped, the plastic adds credence. Message me your address and I can send you some currency sleeves to get you started.

Great find from circulation - doesn't happen often.
