I definitely see D/D, and you may have D/D/D, but from the pics it's difficult to clearly see the bottom serif. What you may be seeing to the west is the top of the lower D which is canted. All that said, I'm definitely not an expert in these. Great find.

Skippy 72, OMG! I didn't even realize I did that, I have thought in the past the 1959 should have been included with the Wheat pennies and start the LMC with 1960. Thanks for all the help everyone and I will do some more reading as suggested. |

1859 Was Lincoln's Election year. 1809 was his Birth year. Thus the two events that started for the change. Just like 2009 was 100 years forwards from his election year.
