Hi folks. Can anyone tell me why the Profile Of Jefferson is doubled and quite offset from the original bust. Yet as far as I can tell the Legend is normal. Any help as to what has happened or if it is a variety. And how many steps would this be classed as? I would be most grateful T.I.A

What I am seeing is minor MD and some staining.

Coin has been obverse down on a dirty wet surface, and when dried out,
the evidence to be seen is of of 'tide mark' staining.

'Tide mark' staining is a good way to account for staining which takes on the look of coin details. Unfortunately, this coin has steps showing wear and some light dings.
