*** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. ***I decided to submit a few coins to PCGS last weekend, so while I am patiently waiting I pulled out a couple of mystery date Jefferson nickle rolls that I bought back in a hoard back in November 19'. These rolls sat for a while because before I could rolls hunt again I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. With nothing better to do today I slipped on my gloves, grabbed one of the rolls and carefully removed the seal. As I watched the first few fall into the palm of my hand I immediately felt my heart drop. Not with dispare, but with the thought of "Holy $#%&, there is no way!". Without going into great details, and taking a bunch of pictures, I will say that they are from the early 60's, extremely well preserved, in BU condition and absolutely beautiful! So now I feel overwhelmed and almost amateur (has anyone ever had that feeling?). My question is, should I submit these to PCGS in bulk, knowing it might flood the market and drive lower grades down (if they grade like I think they will?) Or should I just pick the a few out and see what happens? Should I take (one) to my PCGS Authorized Dealer and get his opinion? But considering I want to do my own submission, should I even do that? Sincerely, Overwhelmed and over thought...

The only question that matter is, are they full steps? I can buy BU Jeffersons, slabbed mind you, in the 65-66 range for $5-$15. For example, a MS-65 1960 Jefferson is worth ~$10-15. By comparison, a MS65FS 1960 Jefferson is ~3.5k.

I have 7ea 1962 FS, undoubtedly and uninterrupted, then there is 5ea in the 1963 FS in the same, and I have 4 rolls to go. I will post a couple pics with tomorrow lift of day and show you what I'm talking about. I'm usually asleep by now, but this has my heart racing a little tonight...ol

My suggestion is to post pics of the coins you want to send in BEFORE submitting them. The more eyes you have on them the easier it is to get a consensus of opinion. We don't want you to waste your money cause TPG grading ain't cheap!

with westernsky, the question I'd ask you is, why stab them? If for value/investment, you'd be losing money with the grading fees vs what they could be sold for as an important point to consider. If you want them stabbed to verify your grading ability, I'd suggest you post photos here and let us help you.

. Solid obverse and reverse pics, along with clear up close pictures of the steps are needed. Grading is very subjective, especially only being able to go by pics, BUT a FS designation is pretty easy to get a group consensus on here. As stated, that's going to be the determining factor in sending them in, IMO.

I have quite a few in these high grades, will post pic in the morning to get more eyes on them. I have been cherry picking high grades for a number of years. I am in remission from pancreatic cancer and am about to have another surgery for a large incisional hernia. I want to pay off some debt and get through this surgery or I would sit on them a little longer..
I'm shooting for a MS67 to 67+ on all three, the 62, 62D and the 63. I know how expensive it is without out doubt, I just dropped $300 on a submission.
I will absolutely not send off anything to PCGS unless I am confident it will grade high. It took me 3 months to send ofc my first membership vouchers lol. I know its a gamble. But my gut tells me this will be worth it... I have a few 1954 Lincolns that I'll post as well for your viewing that I've already put in Maylar Flips and started a submission form on... Thank you guys, yall always come through when its absolutely serious. I appreciate all the feedback...

Either post photos here or take it to your LCS for their take on them. As a general rule a coin needs a retail value of $150 slabbed,to justify all costs involved in having them slabbed. I hope you do well with the ones you already sent in to PCGS. John1

I recommend that you grade here, as it is totally free, and we're pretty good
