We had a guy walk in with a collection today. Mainly normal stuff. Proof sets, wheats etc. but there was one odd piece and my boss had no interest so I bought if for the grand sum of a dollar.

Now don't do this at home with your rare coins kids! Magnets are glued to the backs of these.
I figure for a buck I have the coolest fridge magnets on the block.

Depending on the type of glue, you might be able to remove the magnets without damaging the coins.
if it's Elmers glue you could try soaking them in plain water for a while.

I really like that Uganda 2(cent?) I don't think I have any coins from there.

G'day, I wouldn't do that to coins, either.
But like you, I've bought a few "vandalized" coins, in order to give them a haven from further abuse.

This actually is a cool idea to do with a coin that is now useless (there is no way I could do it to a normal coin) and beat up like no other. I think the funny part will be putting them on the fridge and see how long it takes my son to realize they are not the normal coins we look at.

Hopefully none of those TV shows that offer coins see this. Or the next thing we'll all see is a massive amount of coins with magnets on the reverses for refrigerators. Picture this, a 1916D Mercury dime as a refrig magnet.
Rest in Peace

What's next? Tokens? Keys? Currency? Butterflies? I must admit, though, that they'd make good fillers for the spots between my radio station refrigerator magnets, which cover almost all the front of my fridge!
