1986-D Nickel . Never Seen This Damage Is It Post?

This nickel has what appears to be a huge scratch, however the opposite side of the scratch is untouched, and although there is some relief from the scratch there is what seems to be too much raise on the coin to be just the metal from the indent part of the scratch. Any ideas?

Actually, it is three scratches and yes, they are scratches bordering on gouges.

May have been smacked with a file? PSD. You can see the straight area on the right sides of the damage area that are straight. Pushed metal on the left side of the affected areas. Spender!
