
Also remember that the grading companies can be inconsistent. The wisdom of this forum says to buy the coin and not the slab - so post and ask when you have a question.
Also - and not meaning to hijack the thread. But since you said you are new to nickels, and if you are interested in varieties, you will run into the 1938 and 1939 REV varieties. Unfortunately the "experts" at the grading companies seem not to be aware of the easiest way to tell these apart - but the following chart makes it easy. So tuck it away for future use (if needed)
