Okay bought a cheap 5x magnifer. I started looking at my lincolns from my rolls. I went cross eyed. Do you do one at a time. Anyone?
What methods do you use?

I do one at a time and pay more attention to Known error years and older years. If I have time I might thumb through the newer years but if I don't I will just roll em back up to get more. And any damaged ones go right back into rolls. No use looking at a coin that wont grade. Even if it does have a error its worthless. And there are plenty of wheat's out there that are so beat they would only be worth the melt of em.

I use a 30x36mm magnifier and look at every little speck of the coin for something.

looking at every date I go by the known years and values of the more valuable Doubled Dies and RPM's.i still use several sheets of paper (taped to my wall) for reference.if no RPM or DD i'll check the reverse for any DDR's.so I look at every obverse just not every reverse.working mostly with Denver mint coins reverses get checked from 89- date.personally I use both a 10x loupe (first) then a 20x loupe lastly a digital blue microscope QX5 $90.00.as coindexter points out damaged coins even with valuable doubling or errors ect. are skipped and returned to circulation.well good luck and 'happy hunting'.oh and if you have not come across www.coppercoins.com web site its a must for copper coin collectors.

My answer was detailed and long enough that I posted it in a new thread.
