Seller photos, reverse looks proof like maybe? Some straight lines on the cheek look to be from cleaning. Edited by TobyJ 07/12/2020 11:15 am

Fields are too dark to see surface detail clearly.

i dont think the striations on the cheek are from cleaning but from these photos its difficult to tell. it does appear to have PL qualities but the lighting refractions may be hiding just about anything in the darker areas. it looks close to MS64 but the upper cheek mark may hold it down a tad

Cheek looks pretty rough. MS-63 and maybe semi-PL.

I wonder if there was an attempt to buff scratches on the high point of the cheek?

Light localized scuffing has affected the luster of the metal on Lib's cheek. Some would regard this as very minor wear, some would disregard this as wear, and term it as 'light scuffing'. Same applies to the breast feathers on the eagle. Scuffing and wear are, after all, really the same thing. No wear anywhere else.
Contrasting appearance of the reverse field in these pictures lead me to think that this coin is 'PL', but definitely not 'DMPL'. How it apperas in hand may be different.
Enough small nicks and small scratches for this coin to grade at MS-62 or 3 PL.

Thanks for all replies. I'm still watching it, made a few offers over the past few weeks and it's $97 now. I don't normally ask for opinions on price but should I go for it?

Personally, I would pass.

MS-63+ possibly PL but based on obverse appearance I would say unlikely. Reverse seems PL with cameo.

I would pass on this one. $97 is a bit steep for a raw example of this date/mm with that cheek. There are plenty of nice examples out there to choose from. No reason to take a risky purchase.

Thanks, I was thinking it was still a bit too high so I'm going to pass especially with only two photos to go by. I'd rather buy one slabbed for that kind of money.
