2018 Nickel Abnormality - Coin Community Forum

xMissFluffx New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 07/12/2020 7:57 pm Hi everyone! This is my first time posting but I have used this forum to reference threads while looking at coins. If I'm posting in the wrong place I apologize. I found this 2018 Nickel that has rings perfectly in line with the lettering on the reverse side of the coin and I was wondering if this could be caused by something in the process of making the coin or if it's just someone's clever hobby? I don't have great pictures I only have my cell phone but I do think they're clear enough to see what I'm referring to. Thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

(I knew of the circular ones and several others) Thanks - This may explain all the cross cuts I see on old Quarters and nickels. I was wondering what caused those. But I must ask about the third picture from the left - of the Quarter - with the "Checkerboard marks on the corners of the pic. Are those wrap damage too? I have found something similar on VERY old LWC's including along the edge. I would like to see some pics of that kind of damage if that is what they are.
