Hello, I am new here, this website seems like it's a good place to ask about my coins.

I have a 1970 -D Quarter Dollar . Now I know that because it's a "D" Mark its not that special BUT ...
I have been looking at this coin and found a few things weird, if anyone sees what I see please let me know your thoughts ...

Making us guess will not help with the outcome you want.

Tell us what you think and we'll explain why you are wrong, it's just PMD from 50 years of circulation.

Oh I'm sorry.

I know this sounds crazy but I see "1841 " under the birds feet ,above the words.

I look very close and I see a
What I think is an "8" or an "9" and other numbers but I don't know for sure what I am seeing. I have never seen anything like this before,
Has anyone seen this ?
I'm sorry but I really don't know much about coins , I'm a newbie at this.

@ash, first welcome to CCF. Second, while better pics of this region would help, I can tell you with certainty that this coin wasn't struck at the mint with a second date on the rev.

Thank you,

I will try harder to get better photos.
I already know that you are right but this coin confuses me.

Why am I seeing numbers on this coin?
Should I bring it in to get looked at orshould I not bother and just put it in my book?

You are seeing the eagles tail feathers below his feet. The wear on the coin makes them barely discernible.

Google for Pareidolia
