Seen quite a few spitting eagles, this one happens to have a nice obverse die clash to go with it. On a nice coin to boot.

Heavy die polishing on the obverse.
And even that wasn't very effective in removing the clash.

Very nice coin.

It is a keeper for a second reason. The 1982/1983 mint sets were only sold at the mint. To get mint sets those years, you have to go to that mint to buy them. So if you see these for sale, but them. They didn't sell sets that year. So all BU coins from those two years should be save. (Cents are not in as much demand) But without the sets sold, people who fill their collections from mint sets, will be interested in these years BU coins. Save them when you find them.
