Hello,

I would like to know if you think this is PMD or an error. The thickness is greater than that of a normal quarter (see pic) yet is still has the correct weight. The edges are perfectly smooth with no striations.

Anxious to hear opinions.

As always, thanks for looking,

FOMC

PMD Looks like Its a sander job not a error. You can tell due to it not having slight rounded edges its flat.

I have a 1999 Georgia peach with the same kind of thing... Pretty sure it spent a few days in a dryer but not many. It really jumped out in a handful of quarters because it did not line up with the rest. The rim is just a tad higher then normal and you can really notice it in your pocket... Most of the reeding is almost gone as well but just barely visible.

Correct. Dryer Coin. Altered in a commercial dryer. Just a damaged coin now. Just a face value coin. When it get back to the bank, it will be set a side with others to send back to the mint to cancel it and re-cycle it.
