Good morning all, I have just joined this site roughly an hour ago. I'm looking for help on grading a coin that I purchased back in 1987 at a coin show. It is a 1851 liberty head $1 dollar coin . From looking at other pictures of high graded coins, I believe the coin I gave is in much better quality . Can anyone please advise me?

How much did you pay for it back in 1987?

photo need oriented properly and size is an issue for proper grading. I'm not seeing anything that says the coin was circulated but it appears to be a weak strike. there is discoloration around the headband area which will affect it. I'm not a gold expert so assuming its not a counterfeit I'm at MS62 area due to the discoloration and the weak strike

@pjanes, first welcome to CCF. Second, since it is best practice to create only one thread per coin, I'm going to lock this one. The other has better pic and folks can comment on this coin here: http://goccf.com/t/379033
