Hello! This is my first post. There will likely be more to come while I'm identifying and describing my coins to sell.

The first I would like to know anything about is a !986 D - Quarter with Reverse tapered and smooth?... Mis strike/planchet error?

Photos are all I have thus far as extensive researching has not come up with any leads.

Thank you!

This coin has been deliberately sanded down, not a mint error.

Has all the appearance of deliberate damage to me. Might want to keep it as an interesting oddity. You might get a buck or two for it on ebay--from someone who enjoys and collects mutilated coins. Maybe.

@blh, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes this coin is damaged (not a mint error).

No... not my intention. Basically I am just seeing what someone else sees and comparing with my notes to see if I am on the right track or if I may be wrong..... I am not taking any direct. Notes from here to my listings.... simply this is just one more cross ref check point in my mind.
