1982 penny the 1 the 9 with the 8 being the most obvious . I don't know what this is called or caused by ?

I see a LD zincoln cent. Hit on the 9 plating debris on the 8 and 2 and a die that has been over polished a bit.

I'm seeing a large date copper strike, that the obverse die was over polished a bit. Thus the fields are fairly fresh, but the date looks like the polishing altered it a bit too much. Note. Look at the size of the devices. They are smaller than the normal large date, but the '2' location and shape is a large date. The motto devices are also showing the same reduction of polishing on the dies.
