Hello all first post, I am looking for some info on this coin. It's a 1993 US penny and the backside is completely backwards. The camera did not flip it. Does anyone know anything about this? Value, story, etc?

If you flip a US coin left to right it should be 180* opposite of what was on the other side, are you saying that if you flip it up to down it's 180* opposite?

@xh, can you please take and post another pic of that side? Rather than holding it with one hand, set it down on a flat, well-lit surface. That will help us to see what is going on.

Flip it left to right and it will be upside down.

Flip it top to bottom and it will be right-side up.

All the U.S. coins are like that. In Canada they use what is called "Medal Alighnment" The top obv and to rev is at the same point. On the US coins they are set up different.

xhazardous to CCF!

best way to show rotational error is to use a mirror.

take a picture of the coin while the reverse of the coin shows in the mirror.

here is a picture of my rotational error.

Take a look at a few other Lincoln cents, you will find that they are "backwards" also.
