Even if he accepted a 25¢ offer he would still make a profit on the shipping .

Encased quarters are seldom seen, especially with a reeded edge.
This one could be especially rare depending on the reverse. I asked for pictures of both sides.

Struck or STUCK? I'm voting for STUCK

I wonder what the reverse looks like? If it was struck while in a bottle cap it better be blank or they've got some splainin' to do

You'd think that the coin would be damaged from contact with acid. It WAS exposed to some kind of soft drink for a time. Just sayin'...

Could have been inserted in the cap long after the drink (or whatever) was consumed.

That's not a soda cap I've ever seen, not deep enough, looks like a water cap.

I worked for Coca-Cola when they did the "MagiCan" promotion back in 1990. It would "Pop Up" cash prizes of a real $1 to $500 bill or one of a number of vouchers for other stuff. Maybe this is a knock-off of that promotion. Could this be from the "Not-So-Magic-Coin-In-The-Bottle-Cap" promotion by some lesser soft-drink company? Nah. I'm just amazed that someone put this on ebay!
