Looks like a die crack. Very common on these War Nickels. Not sure about the doubling, looks like MD or Die Deterioration.

looks like a die thet was on its way out. Gives it some character, but no added value IMO.

This was a purchase MS-60. I still think there is something on the "U" and a notch on the "S" I will have to look again.

The doubling on LIBERTY and TRUST is related to a doubled master die that was used for all mints in 1944. Most 1944 nickels will show that doubling.
