Got this one $68 below book, free shipping Sellers pictures, item in transit. I assume the smaller obverse pic is to minimize any apparent distractions. Be that as it may, I played with the pic in some zoom settings, and didn't see any deal breakers. Any how, see what you think grade wise, Thanks!! Edited by farrider11 08/03/2020 5:44 pm

MS64, maybe PL? maybe DMPL? Tough call from these images. One thing is certain, it is an 1881 obverse die....

My bad I corrected the title, typo. It is an 1881 S. I can enlarge what is there but I don't think that will help, as I alluded to, I think the seller made it smaller on purpose and I don't have it in hand yet. Before I reveal the grade, Ill post some in hand pictures when I get it, supposed to be here Friday the 7th.

Thanks for the larger pic. I'll say 65PL as well.

MS-65. Reverse looks PL. Not sure on obverse.

That's a beaut, regardless of designation.
I'm comfortable with the reverse at MS-65+/66 PL. That's beautiful.
The obverse is tougher because of the photo. There are abrasions on the eyelid, cap ribbon, and cheek. The eyelid contact marks look the deepest, but still don't appear excessive for MS-65. What I can't tell from the photo are (1) whether the scuffs on the cheek are disruptions in the frost or contact marks, and (2) whether the fields have the same apparent depth as the reverse.
This one could net anywhere from 64-65+, more likely than not PL, and maybe DMPL. A better obverse photo would really help. Please give us a chance with an in-hand obverse photo before posting the grade.

PL and DMPL opinions are all over the place. Better photos would help give a more accurate grade. My opinion is MS64 PL.
