@bn94, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks like your quarter has been damaged by grinding off the reeding around the edge and then the rim around the circumference on the rev. Neither of these happened at the mint during striking.

I would like to see both sides of the coin and the rim a lot closer. That might show me a bit more? It might be something or nothing. Just need a closer view to know for sure.
The reeding on the edge has been sanded off recently. Notice on the edge how nice and shinny the copper and clad is compared to the rest of the coin. Sorry but it's just a damaged coin
