I've been collecting and studying coins with various levels of intensity since 1972. That's when my mother handed me her small box of Morgans, Peace dollars and assorted Barbers and said, "Do something with these." So I became what we would call today a young numismatist. Through the decades I expanded on her modest collection.
Recently, my own daughter has reinvigorated my collecting. I'm teaching her what I've learned and we are having fun exploring coins together. These days, I focus on searching for and preserving the best examples of early U.S. clads and their assorted varieties. That's given me the chance to renew my on-again/off-again flirtation with Ikes. Plus, I've also come to appreciate the Kennedy half in a way I thought I never would.
It's good to be here. I hope to learn from your experiences. Perhaps I might be able to contribute something from time to time as well.
