Can you believe I got this back today in change from a purchase? Granted in terrible shape, but a 1872 nonetheless. Last year I received the oldest cent I've ever gotten back, a 1918 Wheat penny in fair shape and I was super excited to get that. But this is the first time I ever received an Indian Head in change and happens to be a key date. Bold or shallow N?

Awesome find! Hang on to this one, the 1872 gets real pricey.

Holy smokes. I don't know what is more unusual -- that someone would spend it, that a cashier would take it, or that a cashier wouldn't take a penny out of his/her own pocket to replace it in the till!

I collect XF/AU Indians, but I love these old workhorses because they have seen so much history!
