Hi

I am not very familiar with roman coinage. What would you say about this denarius from Marcus Antony? Is it genuine?

It does not look genuine to me. The details are too crude. Especially the eagle on the reverse makes me unhappy. Compare with the genuine examples from CRRO: http://numismatics.org/crro/id/rrc-544.9

Coin doesn't look right to me. These are faked a lot. Also, all of the examples I've seen has the legion number below the eagle standards.

Authentic LEG XII for comparison

If I had this one in hand I would look here closely:

I can be wrong, but these 'cracks' seem to me somewhat shallow and rounded.
That wouldn't be a great sign...

without even considering to examine the pictures, it looks too round to me, such that it looks to be of modern manufacture.

With all genuine ancient coins, perfectly centered details on perfectly round flans never happen.

Yes that one is a fake. Also these coins do exist with named legions instead of the legion number. I have owned a few over the years. They are not seen very often because they are scarce to rare. Here is a list of a few types of named legions that exist.

CHORTIS SPECULATORUM
IYBICAE
ANTIQUAE

There are others as well but I cannot remember all of them at the moment.
