This coin has some some interesting wear, maybe an intentional acid bath?

That caught my eye at first, but on the reverse there appears to be a small grease strike through in the "ES".

What do you all think?

Thanks,

-GB

Maybe acid or poor plating has effected the coins surface, its weight would tell you which. Also, not a " Greaser" more metal is needed on the obverse to fill Lincolns bust therefore STATES is/was not struck-up fully

Agree, either a severe plating issue or acid, not grease effects.

My vote leans towards acid damage. PMD.

Looks like a poor plating job with lots of zinc dust under the plating. The weakness on the STATES area is common with the metal movement being transferred to make the bust on the opposite side:

@coop interesting you sent this. I noticed a few cents with the same weakness on "STATES" that looked similar to the coin I posted... Thanks as always for the duration.
