I'm not sure about any of the coins I have, but that's why I'm here! I'll try to post the obverse as well, but I've cropped it a few times and it's still too large I guess.

If you zoom in on the reverse side, it kind of looks like the lettering is stamped to what's there of the edge. This is obviously the obverse, but I just wanted to make sure I posted it too.

Another picture of the edge. Please pardon my finger, I'm terrible at pictures.

@ssl, yes the posting pics can take a little fiddling on CCF. These looks pretty good though. If this was an actual clipped planchet error, I don't see how the rim on the rev would follow the outline of the coin. Rather it would be interrupted where the planchet was incomplete. You coin has a severe rim bruise, perhaps intentional in that someone was emulating a curved clip?

Yeah, I'm not good at this stuff, but I've wondered for years. They're still neat to me though. Most of what I have isn't worth anything to anyone but me, but that's all I really care about. I love them anyway!

And that is what is most important!

In a bit, I'll try to get a picture uploaded of the edge. I haven't been on here in a minute. Life.

Along with the other badly defiled coins you have shown us this afternoon, we aren't dealing with planchet or mint errors, these are deliberately damaged post mint coins. All of them.

Thank you for the info though. I've just always been curious about these coins, and never knew what their stories were. It's good to finally have information on what most likely happened to them.
