Don't let anyone tell you that the US mint has never made a 2 Headed Cent. Here's a 2 headed Indian cent up for sale. https://coins.ha.com/itm/patterns/1...1310-10183.s

If I remember correctly, one side has a rim Cud above UNITED. Unfortunately that area is hidden by the prong on the PCGS slab.

OK...if someone had posted this coin on here, we likely would have told them to look at the seam going around the outside edge of one side. We then would have said they have a Magician's coin.

...sort of like the one you see in the second picture which includes the slab.

So is the seam a part of the slab? I thought the prongs were the only things touching the coin in a slab? Not able to check at present.

The way I read the listing, the slab is wrong and it's a pattern not an error.

Although its discovery was too late to appear in the Pollock pattern reference,
it was included in the Judd reference beginning with the 8th edition.

Yes, I hope I didn't make it sound like I doubted the coin being legit. Magicians coins are not hard to tell by anyone used to dealing with coins...even grading company experts.

...did I REALLY say that?!

Seriously, I do know fakes are something PCGS and others have a very good record on. Their guarantees are specific on the matter and so they are much more careful with suspected fakes.

I am sure they checked this oddity out thoroughly. And at least they were sure enough on it to give their opinion... unlike the 1959 D LWC they will not comment on (don't blame them!).
