I bought this over twenty years ago in a mixed lot of European coins for very little money.

It is a luigino (1/12 ecu) from the Marquisat of Tassarolo (Italy). The portrait is of Anne Marie Louise d'Orleans (with the Italian form LIVia MAria in the inscription). The French-looking coat of arms is actually that of the house of Orleans.

In Italy, Tassarolo it's called a Luigino.
I did a study of these and documented several varieties years ago.

@Albert: do you know its specific variety, and its value? The coin looks to be good VF.

The value can be about $100 perhaps plus or minus about $30.
As far as types go, they are not recognized types according to the official catalogs, they are my own types I found while researching many of them as they varied in details among those of my own and from club members. I have visitors now, but your pics are good enough for me to take a look later and then reply again or maybe edit this post. I can say how yours compares with others. I may even post sample photos.
Regarding your cost- I bought a very nice one 16 years ago for $37 and I see now a similar piece goes for about $100 more. I'me guessing your coin may be worth perhaps 3 or 4 times as much as you paid? Perhaps only double? What was your cost?

Update: My records are 16 years old and showing photos is really no value. There's also no value in saying which type it is since I made the division of three types based on how the crowns compared among the population in my study. Yours is a match for one of them. Types were only for my own purposes and would not be recognized by authorities as a legitimate varieties.

In my 20's, I was into ancient and European medieval coinage, abandoning my US coin interests until my early 30's. I acquired this coin, as well as a few others for $30 in a mixed European coin lot.

Thank you erafjel for your information as well, you were a big help!
