PCGS - As a numismatic journalist and historian, I love getting to spend time talking with the people who help make numismatics as exciting as it is. Perhaps even more, I love intriguing stories - whether or not they're numismatic in nature. So, it goes without saying that I was thrilled to have a conversation with Justin Kunz, one of the most skilled coin designers of our time and someone with a varied background in a range of artistic disciplines.

Though only in his mid-40s, Kunz has already built an impressive artistic portfolio that includes more than a dozen popular coins and medals. The Brigham Young University design professor has even worked as an artist for Disney Interactive Studios and Blizzard Entertainment (of World of Warcraft game fame). Through art and whimsy, immerses the mind and soul into a world of fantasy. And, with the likes of his numismatic creativity, Kunz - a master designer for the United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) - helps transform a blank piece of metal into a work of art that can be held in the hand and tell a story for generations.
