I have been collecting these rolls since they came out, I have not received them from the mint, I go to the bank and pick-up at least 2-3 rolls per state.I do see the nice "mint marked packaged rolls", but other than that and the premium of 1 and a half times the actual face value, not including shipping, the rolls I receive are just as collectable and I believe the coins are in the exact same condition as the mints rolls.I also feel that paying face value for the rolls, is just the cherry on the cake for me, JUST MY OPINION, BE WELL...

Original mint rolls tend to have fuller strikes and almost proof like surfaces in my opinion

Quote: Original mint rolls tend to have fuller strikes and almost proof like surfaces in my opinion The coins in the original MINT rolls are from the exact same production lines and and are handled in the exact same way as the coins shipped out to the banks. Ballistic Bags to the to rolling site (THE SAME ROLLING SITES)and run through the same machines. The only difference between the rolls you get at the bank, and the rolls that you pay a premium for from the mint is the paper they are rolled in. You can get good or cruddy coins out of either type. It's all the luck of the draw.

It's all the luck of the draw Technicaly not all banks carry the various State Quarter rolls that people need to complete there sets, the gas/petro thats needed to track them all down would cost just as much if not more, than just getting them from the mint dont you think ?

I'm still looking for Utah and New Mexico P's. It seems in California, they are a difficult find in circulation.
