The 1968-1972 cents had a lot of Machine Doubling. Even the big DDO had many examples with Machine Doubling.
Note on these coins the DDO is present on the date and the Machine Doubling is present on the yellow arrows on all of these, in same direction on these doubled dies. Your coin was struck with a normal die, and after the strike, the machine altered the devices. Just a normal coin.

For me no: the die chip is very common and MD doesn't add value to a coin. However, the MD is quite visible and could be a good exemplar to keep around.
