I have 2 coins that were returned from NGC labeled "not genuine" a 1906 D $10 and a 1913 $5 coin.
What's the consensus here on how to liquidate these coins? Do I sell them as not genuine or do I scrap them etc?
Thanks,

You can't / shouldn't sell counterfeit coins. Consider it a lesson learned.

you will want to find out if there is any real gold in them, then sell them to a gold buyer as scrap..
Where did you buy these coins from, and how much did you pay for them..

Silverwolf,
I do clean-outs every now and then and have had these coins in my gold pile for about 5 years now. I didn't pay anything for them other then the privilege of hauling trash out of attics.

At least they didn't come back as fakes. I wonder what they are made of. And here is a thought. What if NGC is wrong?

The weight looks right. Not sure if NGC is right is a good point.
$10 coin, 16.7g $5 coin, 8.4g

Wouldn't hurt to post a couple pics on here! Next step as stated, getting them tested for gold content, if any.

The XRF test that scrap gold buyers use only tests the surface of the coin. If the coin is gold plated over a core, the XRF test by itself is not conclusive.
Other corroborative tests are required.

Quote: Other corroborative tests are required Since the weight and look seem reasonable, presumably NGC did these tests. What were they?

That $5 Indian looks incredibly good fake.

I have no idea what's wrong with either of them but I'm no expert either.
I have no idea. it would fool me for sure. I spent a good half hour trying to find faults that I don't see.
maybe there's tooling marks that identify it to them that aren't visible in the pictures?
I dunno, did you check it with a decent magnet just in case already?

take them to an LCS and ask what they would pay for them.

There were many fakes of these. They were made from melted down Saints so the metal is right. There used to be a numismatic premium on these coins, now there is none, so it hardly matters.
